Open Workplace Overload
I don’t get it. Who invented open workplaces? I don’t understand how you as a employee feels more comfortable and productive just because everyone else in your office can see you. When I am located in a open workspace I get absolutely nothing done. I need the privacy, silence and concentration to be productive. When you have to the constant ringing of phones and not just your own phone - no - everyone in the office’s phones. It drives me mad!
I get more work done at home where I can be myself and concentrate in 4 hours than I would have been able to produce in 10 sitting in a office where everyone can breathe down my neck at all times, commenting on what I am doing and giving me unwelcome suggestions. No thanks.
Each employee should be allowed to choose whether or not he or she would like to sit in a open or closed workspace. People are different and have different needs and taste. A say in things such as office furniture and interior decorating could possibly produce a better workspace for a lot of people who are a lot like me!

I cannot stand open workspaces. Makes me feel like everyone is watching me do my job.
