Work Environment Is Important
The office where my husband works is not exactly the best decorated place in the world. It’s clean and there is a few plants but compared to the amount of hours some people spend there (hint) it is extremely boring and I am happy that they are not dealing directly with the customers in that office. They don’t have a proper reception desks and no art on the walls.
It’s isn’t really that difficult to combine cozy or stylish looking furniture with the office workspace. I am pretty amazed that none of them have suggested a change so far. It could perhaps have something to do with the fact that most of the employees are men. There is only a single woman - and not surprising she is the receptionist.
I believe it’s important that your workspace is as cozy as possible. I know for a fact that a bad work environment can cause stress and related symptoms. They are amazing at the job they do but I bet that they are sick of the environment. I think I will suggest a makeover to the boss next time I see him. hey could start out with a reception desk to welcome guests a little better and then a couch because they only have office chairs for seating.
